It’s a nice shell, it almost looks fake though? Good for decoration. It has a hole where they remove the meat from the shell (the whole is about the same size as a piggy bank opening) it almost makes it look like the shell is a piggy bank.I have it outside by my pool as a decoration.Mine arrived with a crack in it , it’s nature , not perfect, but still beautiful and a treat to have and look at daily,I love seashells and the beach.This is a decent shell ?, it looks nice in the corner of my garden tub with a few other shells.This would also look nice in a walk in shower paired with 2 other sized shells for a tropical vibe.No matter where you live , this will make you feel sunny and remind you of the beach , even when it’s snowing out.You can get an air plant and put it in the shell , keep it misted and enjoy it in your home or on your patio in the garden.Nice size shell with good luster. Nice pink colour inside. Very large hole where they took the meat out in the Bahamas and they are now selling the shell they harvested for food. It's a creative way to make money twice on something, and they like to market the large hole as an asset to the shell. But the hole made it impossible to make it into the Hawaiian shell horn like I had intended to surprise my Hawaiian husband with. He still likes it on the shelf the way it is tho, but I saw he was disappointed. Maybe they could offer a second option to pay more for one with no hole? Well it's still pretty but just a decoration now and can not be made into a sacred horn instrument. It's across from my morning coffee chair so I get to enjoy its pink shine every day peering out from under the plant on top the table.As you can see from the pictures, this is an amazingly beautiful conch! It is nice and large and relatively perfect, as far as conch shells go. I did not retouch the color on these photos, and I used natural daylight to take the pictures. So, the color you see is the actual color of the conch I received. It is absolutely stunning! And as beautiful as the shell is, my favorite part is the hole in the back and the enclosed card explaining that the conch was harvested for food and none of it was wasted. What a wonderful addition to any home - natural beauty, sustainable sourced! Who wouldn't love this?My wife recently went to the Bahamas and fell in love with the conch shell. While there, she ate conch and inquired about the shells and I guess they throw them back. I don't know if it provides future housing for other creatures, but that is what they do.She is from the coast of North Carolina and anything pertaining to shells makes her giddy. She loves them and this one is no exception, hole and all.I was not sure how I felt about getting a shell with a hole in it because the animal had been killed, but since this was for food in an area that would use these for food, I decided to give this a try and see how I felt on arrival of it. I was pleasantly surprised. Every one of these will be different, so I can see some not being happy with what they get, but this is a risk that is always taken when getting a shell or crystal or other natural item sight unseen, and how often would one find one of these just walking on the beach? I was surprised at the weight of the box when it came. Mine is rather heavy and large. The hole where they took the animal out on mine is really a slit about half an inch wide, so this did not freak me out as much as I was worried it would. The shell looks great. I have a coastal theme in my home, and I grew up near a beach and use ocean items for decorating and something of an altar, and this is going to make a great addition for me. I like that the company uses every part they can so that there is no waste. The $30 of this shell is well worth it, and from what I remember from tourist shops growing up, you would pay this or a lot more in one of them.High quality conch that is perfect for a beach theme bathroom. This is just what I was looking for! Goes great with my beach and ocean theme.My daughter has a thing for sea shells. I got this as a surprise for her birthday. It will be the biggest shell she has. It is a very beautiful shell with no dings or chips. The colors are gorgeous. This would make a great gift for someone that loves shells and the ocean.
